- 3eggs
- 1 tbspchili sauce or fresh chili
- 1 halfbaguette, split open lengthwise
- mayonnaise, to serve; optional
- sambal, to serve; optional
- salt, to taste
- black pepper, to taste
- vegetable oil, for the pan
Method
- 1
In a bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, beaten eggs, chili, salt and pepper. Mix well.

Immediately place the baguette halves cut-side down onto the mixture. Press firmly with a spatula so the bread absorbs the egg. Cook for 2 minutes.
- 4
Flip the bread over so the meat side faces up and cook for 1–2 more minutes until lightly crispy on the bread side.
- 5
Remove and cut into portions. Spread with mayonnaise and/or sambal before serving.
