Garlic Butter Shrimp
Ten minutes, one pan, and shrimp pulled off the heat a moment early.
Ingredients
- 14 ozraw jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 ozunsalted butter
- 1 tbspolive oil
- 5 clovesgarlic, thinly sliced
- 1/2 tspdried chili flakes
- 2 tbsplemon juice
- 1/2 ozfresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tspsea salt
- 1/2 tspblack pepper
Method
- 1
Pat the shrimp completely dry and season them with the salt and pepper. Have the garlic sliced, the parsley chopped and the lemon juiced before the pan goes on — there is no time later.
- 2
Melt half the butter with the olive oil in a wide pan over low heat, add the sliced garlic and the chili flakes, and cook slowly until the garlic is fragrant and pale gold at the edges only.
- 3
Turn the heat up, add the shrimp in a single layer, and cook without moving them until the undersides have turned pink, then turn them over once.
- 4
Take the pan off the heat, add the rest of the butter and the lemon juice, and swirl until the sauce turns glossy. Stir the parsley through and serve immediately with everything from the pan poured over.
