Ingredients
- 2 slicebread, thick cut
- 2eggs
- 1 ozbutter
- 1 tspsalt
Method
- 1
Press a drinking glass into the middle of each slice and lift out the round. Keep the rounds — they toast in the pan alongside.
- 2
Melt the butter in a skillet over medium-low heat and lay the slices and the cut-out rounds in it. Let the bread toast for about a minute.
- 3
Crack an egg into each hole and season with the salt. Cook for about 3 minutes, until the white has set but the yolk still moves when you nudge the pan.
- 4
Slide a spatula right under each slice and turn it in one motion. Cook for another minute for a runny yolk, two for a firm one, turning the rounds at the same time. Serve with the toasted round on the side.
